im 40 weeks 6 days now and being induced tomoz, arhhh so scared but excited too.
my midwife said that my cervix is really strechy and thinning loads and 2 cms dilated so do i have more of an advantage of the 1st pessary working at all? would love to hear other story's thanxxx Word of advice about prostin pessary?
I was induced using the prostins - it's much better than going on the pitocin drip! How did you manage to get induced early? My hospital won't do it till Thursday and I'm 12 days over now!
Seeing as you're body is prepared, the pessary is very likely to work. My hospital will try it twice before looking at other options, some try it 3 times. It's more like a natural kick-start, as the pitocin forces labour on your body so can cause complications and a more difficult labour in some cases.
Good luck!Word of advice about prostin pessary?
It sounds as though your body is gearing up for labour all by itself anyway. I'm surprised they're inducing you at all actually, most hospitals give you til 42 weeks. I would think that the prostin will get everything moving along nicely! I've heard it can take quite a while for it to work hough so don't be disappointed if nothing happens straight away! I was induced with a syntocinon drip, not very nice but it got everything ticking along nicely! Best of luck and enjoy your little bundle!
I have never been in this situation but yes it sounds to me as though the first one will work, good luck and congratulations,
