LEEP Procedure. Any words of advice?

I'm having a LEEP Procedure this Thursday and I'm pretty nervous. My doctor is doing this at a surgery center and will being putting me under general anesthesia. I've done all the reading up on this and I know the facts but can any one tell me about their personal experience with a LEEP Procedure?

Any words of wisdom will be appreciated!LEEP Procedure. Any words of advice?
You have my sympathies! I had this procedure done about 2 years ago. They used localized anesthesia on my cervix, and then pumped me with adrenaline so I would go numb faster.

Everything went smoothly and the whole thing was over in about 15 minutes. I went back to work the next day.

My only complaint is that they underestimated how long it would take for my body to use the anesthesia, so they started before I was completely numb. I cried a bit at this part. If you are going to be awake, I would ask them ahead of time to check to make sre you cant feel anything before they begin.

If you have a friend or family member that you feel comfortable with, ask them to stand with you in the doctors office. It really helps to hold someones hand during, and have someone to hug after wards. :)

Don't be too nervous. Remember to breathe, and remember that you are in the hands of professionals. Good luck, girl! I'm sure you will do fine! Be sure and treat yourself after wards!
