I'm considering a move - any words of advice??

We've recently had a life-altering experience and are ready to pack up and leave the DC area to a less stressful, more fun area. Any suggestions?


First, my list of 'must haves':


An area with outdoor activities and people that lead active lifestyles.


My husband is currently a government contractor (software), so he needs to be near work.


He's also a Navy Reservist - flying - so needs to be driving distance from a base so that he can continue his Naval Reserve Career.


More warm days in the year then cold is a plus.

New Orleans


Tampa, FL


Augusta, GA


Annapolis, MD


San Diego, CA

San Diego has excellent weather and there are a ton of great outdoor activities all year round.
Annapolis, MD is still almost considered in the DC Metro area. Where ever you decide to move to, the east and west cost are going to be more fast paced and the commute is going to suck. I live in the DC area and it takes me 1 hour to go 22 miles in the AM on 395... on a good day with no accidents.
