Incl- Etiquette, etc.My daughter just got accepted to be in a pageant. Any words of advice?
sorry i have none , i dont believe in such as this .
why would any on want to be placed on a stage and judged by people that dont even know you ?
it makes no sence to me , and i dont agree with it .
i guess tell her good luck , and be ready to soothe her when shes upset and feels worthless if she loses , to someone that the (judges) think is prettier than she is .My daughter just got accepted to be in a pageant. Any words of advice?
one word FUN! If children can have fun they succeed greater than those stressed out!
be your self
pratice makes perfect
Good
Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No makeup, act natural, good manners, dress nicely, smile, be friendly, have headshots (not sure if necessity), and most importantly, act herself.
She should be extremely nice to the other girls in the pageant. That way, even if she loses the pageant itself, she could still be a front-runner for Miss Congeniality. Work on the talent portion of the competition, but pay still more attention to her costume, because that's what it comes down to. It's looks versus talent and appearances versus brain matter. She should also brush up on the art of smiling until her jaw aches. Should she not win this competition (or any other), teach her to lose with good grace (the lost art of good sportsmanship). Neither you nor your daughter should take this too seriously. If it's taken seriously, it can lose its fun aspect in a hurry. You should both take it with a good sense of humor and above all, enjoy yourselves. And if she shows any signs of wanting to back out, let her, because nothing is more pathetic than a young girl being on the pageant circuit just because a parent is telling her to do so.
HAVE FUN!!!! Don't put a lot of pressure on her...oh you have to win...or I hope this isnt a waste of time...and stuff like that...if she has fun then she will do well. I did pageants for 11 yrs and my mom never pressured me and I had a blast and without the pressure I did better!
